Meridian House Weddings in Washington DC

Meridian House weddings take place in a beautiful historic mansion located just off of 16th Street in Washington, DC. Meridian House is a favorite Washington DC wedding venue.

Meridian House was built in 1919 to house Ambassador Irwin Boyle Laughlin and his beautiful artwork. The house remained in the family until 1958. Then, in 1960 the House became the home of the newly created Meridian International Center, an organization focused on promoting international understanding.

On the weekends, some lucky couples are happy to call Meridian House their wedding venue! With several special features, it offers a lot of options for the flow of your event.

The outdoor space at Meridian House is lovely - the Linden grove located just behind the house is a popular location for ceremonies and cocktails. The garden also offers a large, open space underneath several beautiful old trees where you can set up for a ceremony. You can also utilize the space for lawn games or cocktail hours. I've even seen it set up with furniture to create a lounge environment.

The mansion has several beautiful rooms inside where you can host your dinner and set up a dance floor. Although guests will need to be split up for larger events, the library and dining room are connected in a way that allows you to seat everyone. Across the hall, another room is available for your band or DJ to set up and for dancing.

The front driveway area at Meridian House is a great place for a sparkler exit send off, once your wedding festivities have concluded.
